1962 356

Color: Pacific Blue Metallic

Donovan Aakhus My first car that I bought. In 1966, as a college senior, I purchased a white 1962 Porsche 356 B coupe. However, white wouldn't do it in the 60's. My friend Gary Emory at Chick Iverson Porsche, Newport Beach, Ca. directed me to Vic, who owned a beautiful factory mix (very early PTS) 'sweet pea green' 65 C coupe. Not only did I copy Vic's color, I copied his career. He was a USAF Korean War Pilot & United Airlines Captain. I too became a USAF Vietnam War Pilot & Delta Airlines Captain. Since then, when asked I tell people the color is “Sweet Pea Green”. However, in 1965 Porsche did this green for my friend and mentor Vic on his factory custom paint 356, one of the very early “PTS”. The factory called it “yellow green”. I still own the car. I have owned this car for 57 years and it has defined me
