53 YEARS OF Ownership!!! In 1969 I purchased this 1966 912 Porsche after seeing my longtime friend Richard Maxey's new 1967 Gulf Blue 912 Porsche. In September 1969 I signed for my first teacher contract for $7,800 a year, within a month I found my 66' Irish Green 912 and bought it from the original owner for $3,800. It served as my daily driver for over half of my 40 years as a teacher, principal and superintendent and now 14 years of my retirement. During the past 53 years it has demonstrated the reliability of German craftmanship! Two of my best decisions were: 1) buy the car & 2) keep it!!
