Tribute / Clone / Recreation of First ever Formula 1 pace car. September 23, 1973 Canadian Grand Prix Mosport Park, Ontario, Canada. First use of an official series pace car. The race ended up as one of the most controversial in Formula 1 history. A wet race with accidents brought on track. Driver “Eppie” Wietzes and passenger picked up the wrong car! 5 Laps later the pace car came in, the race finished in utter confusion. In that era Kai times and scoring was done by team members with pen, paper and stopwatches. Pit stops were the only factor that would change position and that was manageable. After many hours a winner was declared, with those results still questioned today. Official series pace cars were not used again until reintroduced 20 years later in 1993
