1983 944

Color: Guards Red
From: Mesa, Arizona
Owner: Jacob

This 944 was purchased from Park Porsche Audi in Culver City, CA, in October of 1982. The original owners were a couple of married lawyers from Orange County. It was loved and maintained by them for over 30 years. Sometime in 2014 it was purchased by 2 brothers and their father as a weekend car. After deciding to part ways with it in September of 2015, it became mine, making me the third owner in 33 years. The car was built in August of '82 and was not heavily optioned. The Base price was $18,450 with the most notable options being: a Blaupunkt Monterey "digital cassette radio" ($795), Forged alloy wheels ($1,635), and sport shocks ($270). I bought it after 17 years spent dreaming of Porsche ownership. The original owners kept every single document, from the window sticker and warranty contract, to every single service and purchase made through when they sold it. As a homage to their love and dedication, I have also put forth just as much effort into documenting every single detail, and continue to maintain it religiously. Not only was this my first Porsche, but also my first car, and I intend to keep it running and driving in my ownership long into the future. I have learned everything I know about working on cars from maintaining it. It was my professor in engineering, budgeting, performance driving, as well as an escape every time I get behind the wheel. It is a joy to drive and I am grateful to have it under my ownership. While it is my primary car I still use it to carve up bush highway to saguaro lake on the weekends when I can.
