Unless you’re an active member of PCA, it is sometimes hard to explain the devotion members have to the club. Our members are not only passionate about Porsches, but they are also some of the most selfless individuals (See Members Making a Difference). The contributions these individuals provide and the camaraderie they foster makes our club the best in the world. Over the years I’ve had several conversations with members about their plans to gift their Porsche(s)/Porsche memorabilia to PCA and have PCA listed in their will. It has always amazed me that, in the planning of the fate of their cherished possessions, they considered PCA a worthy family member. I make it a point to explain to those who call that PCA is a 501©7 tax exempt association but not a charitable organization, therefore their contribution does not provide them with a tax write-off. Not a single person I’ve mentioned this to has changed their course of action. Members simply want their Porsche to fall in the hands of trusted caretakers, be shared with future generations, and possibly be used to educate future Porsche enthusiasts.
